Adults 18 and over. Ola isn't made for children or teenagers, and it's rated 18+ in the App Store. ### Do I need to make an account? No. There's no sign-up, email or password. Open the app and start. ### Does Ola share anything to improve its food database? Only facts about packaged foods: the barcode, brand, name, label numbers and serving size, plus corrections like “this bar is 190 calories, not 210”. They carry nothing that links them to you, and never include your diary, photos, words or Apple Health data. Nothing is shared while every online feature is off, and you can switch it off in Settings. Plate photos and dictated meals are kept only if you turn on Help improve Ola, and Kai chats never are. Details are in the [privacy policy](https://olawellness.app/privacy). ### Where is my data kept? On your iPhone. Your diary, weight, cycle and Apple Health data aren't stored on our servers. Online food search, photo logging, voice logging and Kai are each off until you turn them on. When you ask Kai something, it sends a summary of your recent days so it can answer. Our server never keeps your question, Kai’s answer or that summary. The AI model doesn’t train on them, though Google may keep a request for a limited time for safety checks. The [privacy policy](https://olawellness.app/privacy) explains exactly what happens to them. ### How much does Ola cost? Ola is free to download, and everyday tracking stays free: logging, search, barcodes, the Fasting, Food and Steps rings, Apple Health, weight, preset fasts, cycle tracking, widgets and the watch. Ola Pro adds Kai, photo and voice logging, Patterns and more (see Pricing above). It's $12.99 a month with a 3-day free trial, or $99.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. That's about $8.33 a month on the annual plan. It renews until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. ### What happens if I stop Ola Pro? Everything you logged stays on your phone, and all the free features keep working. The Pro features switch off. If you subscribe again later, they come back, and Kai, photo and voice logging ask for your OK once more before they send anything. ### Does Ola work on Android or the web? Ola is made for iPhone and Apple Watch. Ola isn't available yet on Android, so stay tuned for updates. Ola is not available for the web. ### Is cycle tracking required? No. It stays off until you turn it on, and the other look hides it completely. When it's on, Ola shows how each phase of your cycle lines up with your eating and weight. It isn't a form of contraception and can't predict fertility. ### Is Ola medical advice? No. Ola is a wellness and self-tracking app, not a medical device. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before big changes to how you eat or fast, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or managing a health condition or an eating disorder. ### How do I delete my data? Settings → Data → Delete all local data wipes everything on your phone and asks our server to delete any photos or words your phone shared. To remove only what you shared, use Settings → Food lookup → Delete my shared food data. Deleting the app removes what's on your phone, so use that button first if you also want our copies gone. ### How do I get help? Visit the [support page](https://olawellness.app/support) or email us. A real person reads every message. ## Support questions ### Do I need an account? No. Ola has no sign-up. Your data lives on your iPhone, so there's nothing to log in to. ### How do I connect Apple Health? Go to Settings → Apple Health in Ola and turn it on, then choose what Ola may read. To also send weight, water and food energy back to Health, turn on "Allow writing back to Health". You can change these later in the Health app. ### My steps show zero Ola shows the step total Apple Health gives it. Open the Health app → Steps → Data Sources & Access and check that your iPhone or Apple Watch is listed and turned on. ### How do I use Ola on Apple Watch? Install Ola on your iPhone, then open the Watch app on your iPhone and install Ola Wellness from the Available Apps list. Open Ola on your iPhone once so it can send today's data to the watch. ### How do I turn cycle tracking on or off? Settings → Period & cycle → Track period & cycle. It's off until you turn it on. If you'd rather not see period and cycle tools at all, change the Look in Settings → Appearance. ### How do I back up my diary? Settings → Data → Backups. Ola keeps backups inside the app, and you can choose a folder in the Files app to keep a copy that survives deleting the app. Backups can't go to iCloud Drive because they include Apple Health data, which Apple doesn't allow apps to store in iCloud. ### How do I export my data? Settings → Data → Export local data. Export JSON gives you your whole diary in one file, which you can import again later with Import data. Export foods CSV gives you your food list as a spreadsheet. ### Online food search finds nothing Online lookup is off until you turn it on: Settings → Food lookup → Look up foods online. Then searches and barcode scans also check Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central and FatSecret. ### What is Kai, and how do I turn it on? Kai is Ola's chat assistant. It answers questions about your own numbers and finds foods the app doesn't have yet. Turn it on in Settings → Food lookup → Kai; a screen explains what it sends before you agree. Then tap the Kai button on Today or the Add tab. Kai has fair-use limits; see “Is there a limit on Kai, photos or voice?” below. ### Is there a limit on Kai, photos or voice? There are daily fair-use limits on Kai, photo logging and voice logging, so that one stuck or misused copy of the app can’t use up the service for everyone. They sit well above how people normally use Ola, and most people never reach one. If you do, the app tells you when the feature will be ready again. Your diary isn’t affected, and search, barcode scanning and logging by hand are never limited. We may change the limits as Ola grows. ### What happens to meal photos and voice notes? Photo and voice logging are off until you turn them on. When they're on, the photo or the words you said are sent to identify the food. Our server doesn't keep them unless you turn on Help improve Ola, a separate switch that is off by default; then it keeps them for up to 90 days, tied only to a random code. The AI model doesn't train on them, though Google may keep a request for a limited time for safety checks. Full details are in the [privacy policy](https://olawellness.app/privacy). ### How do I delete my data? Settings → Data → Delete all local data erases everything on your phone and asks our server to delete any photos or words your phone shared. Settings → Food lookup → Delete my shared food data removes only what you shared. ### Is Ola medical advice? No. Ola is for general wellness and self-tracking, and isn't a medical device. Please talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before big changes to how you eat or fast, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or managing a health condition or an eating disorder. ### Does Ola work on Android, iPad or the web? Ola is made for iPhone and Apple Watch. Ola isn't available yet on Android, so stay tuned for updates. Ola is not available for the web.
